What the FY2027 request buys

Funding will procure data scientists, data engineers, data product support for tools to design and build high-quality data products for warfighters with enterprise-level impact. Data product teams will scale to meet the current demand and efforts will stay consistent.
The increase is due to establishing Advana as an Enterprise Program of Record. The War Data Platform serves as the cornerstone of the Department's data-driven decision-making system. The platform faces compute shortfalls and aging data architecture and framework that is affecting its ability to fully deliver data and analytic capabilities, impacting operational agility and the speed of intelligence insights. Modernizing the data architecture as the requirement of expanding, increasing, and optimize the underlying data layer to expand throughput to reduce latency to ensure the platform can meet the demands of the modern warfare. The investment is to ensure the performance, scalability, and optimizing latency of this critical national security asset but also guarantees sustained development and support, providing the warfighters with an information advantage of the enterprise data platform.
