What the FY2027 request buys
Verbatim from the R-2A exhibit for project 67A001 of PE 1206772SF. This is the budget justification's own description of work that has not happened yet — the one thing no other level of the budget carries.
Will continue support of activities and facilities for enterprise SatOps C2 services for protect and defend mission partners, including science and technology, prototype, and operational mission partners, leveraging a systems integrator to aid the government in acquiring, designing, testing, and integrating key segments and interfaces. Will continue maintaining software baselines, expanding and supporting cloud environments, updating software licenses, continuing 24x7 help desk operations, associated training, and cybersecurity support for SatOps ground segment services and antenna networking services. Will continue deployment of cybersecurity, cryptography, cross-domain solutions, and security architectures to support protect and defend capabilities. Will continue growing infrastructure, network, and data system connectivity to support mission partners to improve resiliency, system diagnostic and characterization capability, ground entry points, data transport architecture, and enabling operational C2 in support of maturation of cloud architecture in support of satellite C2 for protect and defend activities. Will continue to support antenna networking services, to include infrastructure connectivity and development of external government and commercial antenna network connections. Will continue service center capabilities to support mission partners developing, integrating, testing, and operating R2C2 SatOps services. Will continue life cycle sustainment activities for R2C2 cloud infrastructure, platform, and antenna services in support of ongoing protect and defend missions.
FY 2027 Cloud Infrastructure and Platform/Antenna Services funding increased by $8.751 million due to expanding and supporting cloud environments and antenna connectivity for mission partners.
FY2026: the year under way
Prior-year accomplishments and current-year plans from the same exhibit. Context for the FY2027 plan, not a series — an activity partitions its project exactly in the request year, but can under-cover it in earlier years.
Continue support activities and facilities for enterprise satellite operations ground segment solution (SatOps) C2 services for protect and defend mission partners, including science and technology, prototype, and operational mission partners. Continue using R2C2 SatOps ground segment services and antenna networking services, to include maintaining software baselines, expanding and supporting cloud environments, updating software licenses, facilitating user engagements, continuing 24x7 help desk operations, associated training, and cybersecurity support. Continue service center capabilities to support mission partners developing, integrating, testing, and operating R2C2 SatOps services. Accomplish necessary infrastructure technical refresh, patching, and cybersecurity updates. Continue support of antenna networking services. Initiate life cycle sustainment activities for R2C2 SatOps C2 services in support of ongoing protect and defend missions.
Three years, and no five-year plan
An R-2A activity publishes the prior year, the current year and the budget year. The FYDP outyears exist at project and program-element level and are deliberately absent here rather than inferred. Estimate types are colored and never summed into one figure.
| Fiscal Year | Estimate Type | Amount ($M) |
|---|---|---|
| FY2025 | Actual | 0.0 |
| FY2026 | Enacted | 50.0 |
| FY2027 | Request | 58.7 |
This activity is 54% of project 67A001's FY2027 request and 54% of PE 1206772SF's. In the request year the activities under a project sum to it exactly; in the current year they under-cover it in about 9% of cases, so an activity's delta can legitimately exceed its parent's and the two must not be compared row to row.
