HitchAI read

This activity requests $34.0M in FY2027, 27% of project CC01 — a new start with no prior-year and no current-year money. The R-2A exhibit describes it across FY2027, including what the FY2027 money is planned to buy.

New start

This activity requests $34.0M in FY2027 with no prior-year and no current-year funding. There is no incumbent line to compare it with — it did not exist before this President's Budget.

What the FY2027 request buys

Verbatim from the R-2A exhibit for project CC01 of PE 0303150K. This is the budget justification's own description of work that has not happened yet — the one thing no other level of the budget carries.

FY2027 planned work

• Develop functionality to track payloads launched from orbit to their final destinations. • Increase automation of tasks for alerting and enabling operators to protect space assets from an increasingly crowded and hazardous operating environment. • Develop capabilities with the GCCS-J Web capability to allow USSPACECOM users anywhere to find, manipulate, and share data with other USSPACECOM facilities seamlessly. • Improve Cross-Domain Solution interface to ease the movement of data between security enclaves while maintaining strict rigor and protection of sensitive data. • Develop GCCS-J collaborative environments. • Improve reporting and resolution of data integrity problem reports. • Implement an ability for GCCS-J servers around the globe to take and transfer ownership of system tracks. • Address documented problem reports from the GCCS-J backlog involving data integrity, automation, and data flows.

FY2026 to FY2027 change

The increase of +$34.000 million from FY 2026 to FY 2027 is required to address USSPACECOM’s unique operational needs, many of which overlap with existing Joint Staff priorities. USSPACECOM needs these capabilities as soon as feasibly possible to protect and monitor U.S. space assets.

Money

Three years, and no five-year plan

An R-2A activity publishes the prior year, the current year and the budget year. The FYDP outyears exist at project and program-element level and are deliberately absent here rather than inferred. Estimate types are colored and never summed into one figure.

This activity is 27% of project CC01's FY2027 request and 27% of PE 0303150K's. In the request year the activities under a project sum to it exactly; in the current year they under-cover it in about 9% of cases, so an activity's delta can legitimately exceed its parent's and the two must not be compared row to row.
