FY2027 planned work

Energy Magazine (EM): Complete manufacturing and system integration of the Energy Magazine Baseline First Article. Complete formal Test Readiness Review and begin First Article Testing of the Energy Magazine Baseline First Article, complete characterization for Lithium Ion (Li) Batteries in accordance with NAVSEA manual S9310-AQ-SAF-010 (TECHNICAL MANUAL FOR BATTERIES, NAVY LITHIUM SAFETY PROGRAM RESPONSIBILITIES AND PROCEDURES). Complete final update EM models and conduct component and system simulations that focus on EM software development and EM performance. Begin planning and test procedures for Energy Magazine Baseline First Article Environmental Qualification Testing (including shock, vibration, Electromagnetic Interference, etc.). Begin planning and test procedures for Input Section Variant 1(440VAC) and Input Section Variant 2(13.8KVAC) Standalone and System Testing. Continue to support PEO IWS, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, and Office of Naval Research laser testing and planning activities. Continue to support Large Surface Combatant Energy Storage project to transition lessons learned to Energy Magazine and BBG(X). Evaluate and, as applicable, continue to incorporate lessons learned from performance of the EM prototype in EM and EM technical deliverables. Naval Power Technology Development / Platform Integration & Transition: Continue to support maturation and transition of Power & Energy System developments that are aligned with the Navy's 30-year shipbuilding plan and the Chief of Naval Operations Surface Capability Evolution Plan via the Naval Power and Energy Systems Technology Development Roadmap (TDR), which outlines the way ahead for future developments and provides a basis for coordinated planning and investment by the Navy and private industry.
