This program element directly funds the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) and Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) nuclear acquisition workforce. AFNWC and AFLCMC equip U.S. forces with operational nuclear weapon systems in support of military and national security operations. The acquisition and product support workforce provides cutting edge weapon systems, sustainment capabilities, and is charged with providing management, tools, technical and business capabilities needed to oversee Nuclear Systems acquisition programs throughout their life cycle. The direct funded acquisition workforce funded in this program element will support all phases of acquisition programs to include material solution analysis, technology development, engineering and manufacturing development, production and deployment, and operations and support. This funding does not include costs for base operating support civilian personnel. These program elements support both civilian pay and non-pay support requirements.

FY2027 planned work The FY27 PB budgets 342.650M in this program to support 1,878 direct, full-time equivalents. These work years directly support nuclear modernization efforts within the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center enterprise to include ICBM, LRSO and NC3 programs.

FY2026 to FY2027 change The 26.231M decrease from FY26 PB to FY27 PB is to adjust for reduction in workyears due to workforce optimization.
