Joint Fires Network
In FY 2027, the Joint Fires Network (JFN) will deliver and test new software capabilities, multi-level security (MLS) capability enhancements and infrastructure deployments. JFN will deliver new command and control software capabilities and establish automated connections between JFN and service command and control systems, ISR systems and fires systems to enable collaborative planning and execution monitoring. The JFN system will integrate Generative AI models in special access facilities to enable decision superiority for fires across the joint force. Additionally, FY 2027 will see the delivery of JFN Operations Centers and nodes in both USINDOPACOM and USEUCOM. The Joint Fires Network (JFN) is a multi-domain resilient fires-informing decision network at theater strategic and operational levels that provides a persistent targeting common operating picture and mission command applications at the SAP level to enable top echelon decision makers to optimize allocation of weapons across Services and partners at speed and scale. The FY 2026 request for Joint Fires Network (JFN) includes $0 thousand of discretionary funding and $311,432 thousand of mandatory (reconciliation) funding, for a total of $311,432 thousand. The OSW-owned, DAF-led JFN Integrated Program Office oversees execution of all JFN funding. JFN PEs consist of: DAF (0305282F) CDAO (0305282D8Z), DISA (0305282K), USN (0605853N), USMC (0305282M), USA (0305282A). This program element may include necessary civilian pay expenses required to manage, execute, and deliver Joint Fires Network system capability. Note: BA justification is automatically applied. Effort is a Software Acquisition Pathway, not a Major Defense Acquisition Pathway (Milestone B not applicable). This program is in Budget Activity 5, System Development and Demonstration (SDD) because it has passed Milestone B approval and is conducting engineering and manufacturing development tasks aimed at meeting validated requirements prior to full rate production.
FY2027 planned work The FY 2027 request for JFN supports testing and delivery of the JFN 3.0 suite of capabilities, and expansion from USINDOPACOM to deliver JFN capability to EUCOM.
