Armament Demonstration and Validation
This program, BA 4, PE 0603036F, Modular Advanced Missile (MAM) is not a new start. The Modular Advanced Missile Program Element provides linkage between Research & Development and fielding of weapons capabilities. It will analyze, develop, mature, and demonstrate new or emerging armament technologies, processes, interfaces, mission planning, special test equipment, and resources. This program invests in analytical, data management, digital environments, networks, facilities, and security infrastructure upgrades supporting development of this program's capabilities, while leveraging the Department of War (DoW) and the Department of the Air Force (DAF) enterprise IT solutions. Expands program office staff, facilities, and security infrastructure to support the required classification levels for this program's activities. Engages with DoW, DAF, and industry stakeholders to refine threat analysis, refine inventory requirements, and plan upgrade requirements. Capitalizes on and incorporates successful laboratory research and development efforts applicable to this program's capability. This program element included all necessary expenses required to manage, execute, and deliver weapon system capability. The use of such program funds would be in addition to the civilian pay expenses budgeted in program elements 0605829F, 0605831F, 0605833F, and 0605898F. Project was previously funded in PE 0207325F, Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile (JASSM), Project 675356, JASSM Extended Range (JASSM-ER) in FY2026 and prior. This effort is in Budget Activity 4, Advanced Component Development and Prototypes (ACD&P), because efforts are necessary to evaluate integrated technologies, representative modes or prototype systems in a high fidelity and realistic operating environment.
FY2027 planned work For Fiscal Year 2027, program efforts will specifically focus on a comprehensive Technology Readiness Level (TRL) assessment of candidate future missile architectures and capabilities. This includes executing concept development tradeoffs across subsystems to optimize the balance of range, survivability, and lethality against projected threat environments.
FY2026 to FY2027 change Funding increased due to identified need for analysis to evaluate technology maturity level.
