Field Medical Systems Engineering Development
Program Elements efforts focus on addressing emerging requirements and capabilities for deployable medical equipment and sets. These initiatives aim to transition mature technologies into operational systems that enhance medical readiness and support the Army's ability to conduct Large-Scale Combat Operations (LSCO). Through advanced development funding, the Army integrates innovative solutions, refines system performance, and ensures deployable medical capabilities are optimized to meet the evolving needs of the force. This includes the development, testing, and fielding of medical equipment and sets designed to deliver life-saving care in austere and high-intensity operational environments.
FY2027 planned work Medical Device Prototype and Testing: Will provide rapid prototype design; fabrication; evaluation and testing; and fixes for medical devices and medical support products, components and systems as well as harden commercial products for use in a field environment used to sustain and support the Warfighter. Conduct Developmental Test and Evaluation (DT&E) as required by Army and DoW regulations, consisting of Environmental T&E IAW Mil-STD-810G; Performance Verification Testing; and Competitive Analysis. Medical Field Systems Advanced Development (MFS AD): Continue to drive progress in system integration, experimentation, and testing of medical devices to enhance the capabilities of mobile…
FY2026 to FY2027 change Funding increase to support the modernization of the medical mobile shelter that will support the Warfighter within a deployable hospital center across all platforms during Large Scale Combat Operations and other scenarios encountered by US Forces.
FY2026 plans — current year Medical Device Prototype and Testing: Deliver rapid prototype design, fabrication, evaluation, testing, and iterative improvements for medical devices, support products, components, and systems. Additionally, we will adapt and harden commercial products for deployment in field environments to sustain and support the Warfighter. Our efforts will include conducting Developmental Test and Evaluation (DT&E) in compliance with Army and DoW regulations, encompassing Environmental Testing in accordance with MIL-STD-810G, Performance Verification Testing, and Competitive Analysis. By delivering rapid prototypes, adapting commercial products, and conducting thorough testing and evaluation, we…
